MANKIND

Written by Mick Foley (1999)

This book is a pain full journey through the eyes of a hardcore wrestler. The wrestler of doom has three names: Cactus Jack, Mankind, and Dude Love. Not only can he take a great amount of pain, but he also is a very likeable character. A heel or face, he still gets the crowd moving.

This book starts of in Mick Foley's child hood, but don't worry, it takes most about what he encountered and experienced in one of the most dangerous sports. After reading this book, I became a firm believer that, despite the fact that wrestling plots are fake, the wrestling itself is 98% real, which is more than most " real " sports.

This book was published by Regan Books and written by Mick Foley himself with no help from any ghost writers what so ever. I enjoyed most of the 511 page hardcover book, but the only thing I was disappointed in was the last 50 pages were just a sum of his entire career in the WWF with no cute stories or much imager; just cold hard facts.

Most of this book is the first person, which would make sense since it's a autobiography. This book was a lot like reading a man's journal. It contains a lot of playful jokes he plays on other wrestlers. He talks about Brett Hart being cheated-out of World Title in the WWF and he talks about his trips to other countries.

I give this book 8/10
