Lard

The Last Temptation of Reid (1990)

By Hamilton X

My mission, if I choose to accept it, is to review long forgotten, unknowns, and asinine music groups, in order to bring you a chance to try alternatives to what comes on MTV. Not that I have anything against MTV, except that they play those nauseating teen shows that no one cares about, for example The Real Word and it would be nice if MTV would play some videos from time to time. I want to bring to the public music that you may or may not ever heard of, so you can have a maximal selection to choose from for the next time you go shopping at Best Buys.

Lard is made-up of the punk legend Jello Biafra (vocals) who was the lead singer of Dead Kennedy's, Jeff ward (drums), Alien Jourgensen (guitars and programming), and Paul Barker (bass, Programming); who are both from Ministry. Lard is a mixture of punk + heavy metal + Industrial. They sound like Ministry mix in with Dead Kennedy's, which they are.

If you don't like anything too heavy, then this album is not for you. Anyone who loves computerized punk will love this CD. This is the best Lard CD to get and easiest one to find.

This CD being under the Alternative Tentacles and being about fifty minutes long. I enjoyed most of this CD, even if two of the songs are more spoken word than music. And I really didn't see why they did a cover song of " They're coming to take me away " , but other than that, I give this CD 9 out of 10.
