" Surely You're Joking, Mr. Feynman! "

as told to Ralph Leighton (1985)

By Hamilton X

This is a must for every Physics major. Every science teacher I met, being Biology or Chemistry, has read this book. This book is basically someone interviewing Richard Feynman (who won a Nobel Prize in Physics) who tells short stories about his amazing life. Most of the stories account for being true, even thou I think he made-up his wacky adventures in Las Vegas, but that's only my opinion.

Feynman talks about his childhood, up until his big days as being a respected scientist. This book is very interesting, despite that three of the stories I didn't really like, but most of the book is jammed pack with fun. You also can learn a lot from reading this book as well.

Did you know that Feynman could speak Purtogeuse, play the bongo drums, paint and draw, and he also knows a lot about biology as well as physics? Richard Feynman was also Jewish, even thou he doesn't believe in Religion or cult. Feynman worked on the Manhattan Project. Feynman taught a lot in his lifetime (1918-1988) at colleges around the United States and he knows how to crack open safes. I strongly recommend reading this book, despite that a few stories are perverted. My favorite story is when he goes to Japan and how he fixes things by thinking. I give this book 8 out of 10.
